NEURAL TOUCH CURRICULUM
I enjoyed your
practical, no-nonsense approach to teaching which is reflected in your
technique as well. I most enjoyed your combination of Bowen and PRT.
Neural Touch is a synthesis of a variety of disciplines that results
in simple, elegant and powerful treatment
strategies. -Don Lee, Licensed Acupuncturist.
I would like to reserve a space in your November Advanced
Class. I have been looking forward to taking the advanced class for quite a while
now, and hoped it would happen this year.
I am very satisfied with the results I am seeing with my clients since I have
expanded my bodywork practice by adding Neural Touch to my Bowen work. Adhesive
capsulitis and frozen shoulder of 3 years standing, pain gone in a few weeks
of once weekly treatments, full range of motion not long after that. Chronic
sciatica with lower back involvement and walking crooked, never out of pain for
2 years, in three weeks out of pain and walking straight with twice weekly treatments.
On myself, healing a sprained thumb almost overnight, with the help of homeopathic
arnica. The extra tools I learned from you and giving myself permission to "break
the Bowen rules" made all the difference. Thank you so much, and I look forward
to learning more from
you. - Cheryl Kasdorf, DC
Gene is a truly gifted teacher whose unqualified passion
for the subject matter and grasp of the technicalities is evident to all and,
I might say, quite infectious.
Gene has that rare gift of being able to effectively "transfer" vast amounts
of knowledge and experience to a divergent group while maintaining a relaxed
and comfortable atmosphere. He made the whole process a joy to participate in.
The course greatly exceeded all expectations as to quantity and quality of material
and is highly recommended. - David Burnett
Thank you for an awesome experience! The work is amazing ‚ my
clients have been amazed with their progress! I have mixed it with the Bowen
on occasion ‚ it is really dynamic together! Let me know when the next class
is! - Marla Lefler
I am a chiropractic student and have had a lot of bodywork
instruction in my classes. This seminar is probably the best bodywork instruction
I have had. The pace was relaxed so I could absorb the material, yet everything
was presented very thoroughly.
Gene is an excellent teacher, very patient, very funny, and with a very refreshing think
for yourself attitude. The techniques were quite easy to learn, and I feel
very confident taking them
into practice. This is a really excellent seminar. -Michael Fiske
I have been given enough information to last a lifetime
of investigation and practice in all my present and future modalities. -Stephen
Mueller, CMT
In my opinion, Gene is without doubt the best instructor
I have ever experienced in 25 years of doing body work and taking classes. -Julie
Parker
The instruction....warmth, humor, sincerity, compassion...the
wonderful combination of grounded, heart and head instruction......To not be
attached to results, it all works. The body has wisdom--our job is to let it
do what it needs to...just wake it up and support its process. Your assistance
during the practice was great--you really listen to our questions. - Shirley
A. White
Your knowledge of many other modalities was very
reassuring--I feel you have "stretched my learning curve" by having explored
so many alternatives and digesting as many of the "hard core" facts and
then been able to articulate it so well and so humbly (actually, modestly might
be a better word). Thank you. -Kathi Heiber, D.V.M.
All of the techniques will benefit my current practice.
I most enjoyed being able to follow my inner direction, and that of the person
I was working with, without following a recipe. With each piece that we were
given, my body was released of more and more aches and pains...
There is nothing [in the training] I would change. -Juaniece Bair
BOWEN BRIDGE CLASS
I most enjoyed the sheer emancipation from rote, routine
and orthodoxy. Seeing Gene at workthe dance of it! The experience of
integrity and honesty, in relation to this whole Bowen lineage saga.
The course was worth doing the 11,000+ mile round-trip for! Gene has a generosity,
a willingness to share his "work-in-progress," a sheer lack of ego-investment,
that aresadly very
rare in this business. -John King (U.K. practitioner)
Gene uses wonderful analogies, exciting and creative use
of language! Very adaptable, patient, respectful of group's needs. Understanding
of material far beyond what he teaches. Truly a gifted teacher and healer.
It's an honor to be in his classes.
Very exciting and satisfying to have him teaching his own work and
own interpretations. It couldn't have been a better class!! I certainly hope
Gene
goes on to do more classes like this. It feels like "living, growing work." -Karla
Mahanna
The whole experience was most interesting and thought
provoking to say the least. Gene's new class is a must for anyone interested
in bringing new things to your work. Truly amazing some of the techniques presented
with clarity and simplicity... but what an effect. Gene presented a vast array
of integrated material. It has changed my work considerably.
Gene did a demo session with my wife Susan and he resolved a number of things
(that I was not able to) with these newer techniques integrated into the Bowen "move".
Long standing shoulder problems have resolved as well as the wrist problem.
Her knees are no longer a bother. A week has passed and she is still very well
and
without complaint. Thanks Gene. Wish I had seen this stuff earlier. Our class
was a joy to participate in and I thank all those that were there. Gene's considerable
experience and dedication came through in this class and I urge all interested
in this work to treat themselves to this very important addition to the Bowen
procedures. -Dave Foster
Just a note to tell you how much I appreciate your new
technique. I started this bodywork quest with BowTech. I knew Bowen techniques
would be important for me but BowTech was far removed from my vision of my healing
practice.
Then came NST which boosted my morale and opened many new doors. But, my Bowen
Bridge Class was the apex. I now am confident in my abilities, confident in my
blossoming techniques, and ready to really make a difference for many people.
Thank you, Gene. I am a slow learner, but am finally a practitioner you can be
proud of.
Examples: Client A...she has seen me weekly for several months. Until the Bowen
Bridge Class her progress was good, but certain areas of her body just were not
responding. This week she cancelled her standing Wednesday appointment stating
that she felt great! I was in no way surprised for my hands no longer felt all
the blocked areas on her body. Areas I had wrongly decided were strictly emotional
in nature because Bowen therapies were not addressing them.
Client B...he came to see me weekly for a couple of months. Kyphosis since childhood
and many accompanying imbalanced muscles. The Bowen work helped the Kyphosis
better than anything he had tried in the past. He even told me he wrote you an
email about his progress with me. I have seen him 3 times since the Bowen Bridge
Class and the results have been phenomenal. Last week I felt ribs under the skin
between his shoulder blades for the first time. He called 4 days later and reported
detoxing for 3 days following the session.
I could go on.....
I really love the Spinal Releases and want to learn more in that area.
Thanks again and again, -Amy Johnson
The Bowen Bridge class was the most valuable and informative
class I've taken in the 5 years I've been practicing bodywork. What you taught
validated my hunch that mixing in other "body intelligent" techniques
produces more immediate and noticeable results, and further individualizes the
treatment for the client's specific concerns. During my personal introduction
in class, I mentioned that I was not satisfied with the results I was getting
in my "pure" NST sessions. After only two days of implementing the
Bowen Bridge material, I have
witnessed results that are way beyond my expectations.
On my first day back to work, I had the opportunity to try out the techniques.
Two of the clients presented with scoliosis, including a strong rotational
component. This distortion was visually notable as they lie prone. Both reported
pain, one
primarily in the "low" shoulder, the other had pain in the "high" hip.
I included the Difflumiac PRAP, positional release and final spinal check in
both treatments. I watched as their bodies reversed rotation. On my final visual
assessment, I was unable to see any rotation. Their sacrums returned to a perfect
horizontal placement, their shoulders rested balanced on the table. Upon palpation,
I couldn't even feel the classic zigzag of their scoliotic spines. I was elated.
These are both clients that have been coming to me for a long time and all other
techniques have failed to make these changes. One called me the following day
to report that her hip felt fabulous and her whole body felt much more balanced. "You
have magical hands," she said. No magic involved here, just some great
new Neural Touch techniques used
wisely.
To answer your questions: All of the Bowen Bridge techniques that I have tried
have been amazingly effective. Beyond the individual techniques, there is something
about my mode of assessment that has also changed. I am seeing more of the big
picture now, not just looking for tight muscles and obvious postural distortions.
The whole idea of using tissue matching pressure has lightened up my touch, giving
me so much more information during assessment.
Another interesting observation is in how my body feels while doing a Neural
Touch type of session. I am jazzed up and relaxed at the same time. I still have
some clients that request massage. During those sessions this week, my back hurt,
I was bored and found myself feeling resentful that I had to do massage when
I really wanted to be doing Neural Touch. I intend to start phasing out the massage
work, referring out those clients that I'm unable to convert.
My answer to all who have asked me how the Bowen Bridge class went has been, "I
have enough material to digest and experiment with for years. This may be the
last continuing education class that I will ever need."
On a personal note, I have to tell you that the session I received from you was
the most profound bodywork experience I ever had. You released some very long
held tensions in my body, but also released some long-held beliefs. I have always
felt dented, bad, unworthy, and disconnected from others. Intellectually, I knew
these were not accurate, but emotionally, the beliefs remained. After the session,
I got it: I'M OKAY!!! Not only has this translated into feeling good about myself,
but it is obvious in how I am received by others.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Finding a teacher that is right for me has
always been a challenge. Your style is a perfect match for me. This class came
at the perfect timing for where I am in the evolution of my work. I am inspired
by the caliber of your teaching skills and treatment skills. What you've taught
me has enabled me to take years off of the learning curve that will bring my
practice up to a level of mastery. -Kim LeMoon
